Terms of Service

1. Marketplace role

Forage provides a platform that allows users to discover, offer, buy, sell, and message about local food and garden-related items. Forage is not the seller of user-listed goods and does not take title to listed items.

2. Seller responsibilities

• Sellers are solely responsible for the legality, safety, quality, storage, preparation, labelling, and accuracy of their listings.
• Sellers must comply with applicable New Zealand laws, including food safety, fair trading, consumer, and local council requirements.
• Sellers must not post misleading descriptions, omit known risks, or list unsafe, unlawful, recalled, or prohibited goods.

3. Buyer responsibilities

• Buyers are responsible for reviewing listing details, asking questions, and using their own judgment before purchase or consumption.
• Buyers should review ingredient, allergen, freshness, and pickup information before completing a transaction.

4. Prohibited and restricted items

Some items are not allowed on Forage or may only be listed where the seller fully complies with applicable law. See the Allowed Items Policy for additional guidance.

5. Platform rights

• Forage may remove listings, suspend accounts, or restrict access where content appears unsafe, unlawful, misleading, abusive, or outside platform policy.
• Forage may request extra information from sellers regarding ingredients, preparation methods, or compliance status.

6. No guarantee and limitation position

Forage does not guarantee that listings comply with law, are safe to consume, or are fit for any particular purpose. Moderation or review by Forage does not mean every listing has been inspected or approved.

7. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, users are responsible for losses, claims, and liabilities arising from their own unlawful, unsafe, misleading, or otherwise non-compliant conduct on the platform.
